Toady we pause and reflect. On September 11, 2011 the World changed forever. In Lower Manhattan half-a-million people were stranded on the island. The trains stopped running and all roads were closed. There was only one way out– boats.
- On 9/11, 500,000 people evacuated in 9-hours from Lower Manhattan by ships
- 150 Vessels and 800 American Mariners participated in the Boatlift
- In May of 1940, 339,000 trapped British and French soldiers were evacuated by boats from the Port of Dunkirk over a 9-day period
